35mm Film, Nottingham Elopement | Ally + Scott

When Ally emailed me so enthusiastically about her and Scott’s plans to elope in the City, her love for photography and especially analogue film, we instantly clicked!
This carried on throughout our chats over Zoom and email, ahead of booking me for their wedding and a Bloom Analogue Film Experience

They wanted something laid back & chilled plus somewhere for them and their two besties let their hair down for some good times after the ceremony.
Ally & Scott made their way down to Nottingham from Wigan the night before the wedding to stay in an Airbnb in the Lace Market, and being as they first met whilst working together in Nottinghamshire, plus had their first date in Cookie Shake (of course!!) Notts seemed the obvious place to elope! With Ally hailing from Sunny California and Scott’s family located all the way down south, it only seemed fair to keep it small & invite two of their closest friends to witness them tying the knot!

Although, we were unable to sync diaries for the Analogue experience ahead of the Wedding day for a pre-wedding photoshoot, we all decided it would be fun to incorporate the experience into their Elopement. So I packed some Ilford HP5 35mm film, handed them a point and shoot and we hit the town with our cameras after the intimate Ceremony at Arnot Hill House.

To begin with I met the couple at their airbnb (Which I highly recommend looking at doing before your wedding day!) and we took a walk around the Lace Market in Nottingham for some portraits and a good old chat. We then made our way over to Arnot Hill House for the Ceremony.

Arnot Hill House is a registry office set in some glorious parkland, perfect for some portraits before and after the Wedding ceremony. If you’re looking for somewhere that isn’t in the hustle and bustle but close enough to the city for some celebrations afterwards, then I'd definitely recommend this venue!

After the emotional short and sweet rollercoaster that was a beauty of a ceremony. We all piled into the Car and headed back to the City to Celebrate some unique love!
After some celebratory Mocktails in Penny Lane. A vintage seaside inspired bar and arcade, full of nostalgia, neons and a cocktail menu that will knock yer socks off!
We took a walk around some of the city’s most loveable spots and chatted all things from Schitt’s Creek to Working in an adventure park and their plans for a Vegas party! All whilst keeping immensely cool in front of the camera! Ally wearing a vintage dress accompanied with a custom denim jacket donning her newly acquired surname embroidered on the back.

Now when Scott emailed me the week ahead of their elopement, saying that adulting duties were happening, time got away and they needed some help booking some final things, such as some bar recommendations and of course, some food… “Even just a cool Burger Place will do…” Fat Hippo it was! Where we were greeted by a great waiter, who was rather flabbergasted and amused that we’d all made our way to their fine establishment after a Wedding for some Awesome burgers, and some pretty good ranch sauce! And the FRICKLES…. Oh my, the Frickles!

All in all, what an incredible day, full of Love, emotions & complete uniqueness that meant a great deal to the couple.
Just shows that, at the end of it all… it’s about the two of you, not the venue, traditions or many of the other things we think a wedding day should have!

This day was full of the Love between two of the kindest souls, I had the privilege to hang out with and photograph for the day!
