Pre-Wedding Photoshoots

Why have a Pre-Wedding Photoshoot?

Probably something that has not even entered your thoughts when starting your search for a wedding photographer and I completely get that! Neither did my wife and I when we began our search for a photographer.

They can be dubbed as quite a few names… Engagement shoots, (though I see this as something completely different) connection photoshoots, though I like to call them pre-wedding photoshoots, because that’s exactly what they are!

But why?! I decided to offer these photoshoots along with my wedding packages more so as a chance to meet up and just spend time with the couple, finding out what they like, hobbies, how they interact as a couple and shoot some pictures of course! The couple get to know me a little better and it can just put everyone at ease once we hit common ground!
I am all about serving my clients in the best way I can and just by personally getting to know each other a bit more before the wedding day creates an instant rapport, and the couple feeling more comfortable in front of the camera!

I decided to ask for a bit of feedback from some recent clients, Jamie and Carla. We went out to Rutland Water in Leicestershire for the afternoon. We hung out, walked, talked, checked out some of the beaut scenery and even managed to grab a load of photos!

WHAT WERE YOUR INITIAL THOUGHTS ON A PRE-WEDDING PHOTOSHOOT?

“We always thought “photoshoots” can be a bit cheesy, so we were a little bit apprehensive.”

WOULD YOU HAVE CONSIDERED ONE IF IT WASN'T OFFERED?

“No but we love that it was included in the package.”

HOW DID YOU FIND MY APPROACH TO THIS KIND OF PHOTOSHOOT?

“Fantastic, really relaxed and made us feel super at ease”

HOW DID YOU FEEL BEFORE & AFTER THE PRE-WEDDING PHOTOSHOOT?

“We were a bit nervous before about being in front of the camera and not knowing what to do, but excited at the same time to see what the photos would look like.
Afterwards, we were super excited about our wedding day and happy that we had experienced the photoshoot before the big day.”

WOULD YOU RECOMMEND A PRE-WEDDING PHOTOSHOOT TO SOMEONE CONSIDERING IT?

“Yes, because it’s useful to see what the expected outcome of wedding photos will be, and to get used to the Camera…Because it’s not everyday you spend the whole day being photographed!”

WOULD YOU RECOMMEND ME TO DO THE SHOOT?!

“Definitely, you made us feel at ease and it’s clear you have passion for your work.”

A pre-wedding photoshoot is an awesome way to get away for a couple of hours, chat about your wedding plans (OR something completely different take your mind off!) and connect with each other as a couple. Away from all those distractions of modern day life. Y’know it’s always good to have a chat!
If you’re wanting a photographer that will pull out all the stops for you on your wedding day, make you feel super relaxed and photograph all those beaut moments of the day, then I’d love to hear all about your plans!
